Steve Devas highlights the unpretentious, homey atmosphere that feels so deeply Fairfax— “so daggily local” he says—which channels a sense of comfort and community. Matthew Lawless, visiting from New Jersey, was charmed by the positive street vibes and the extensive coffee and bakery selection, calling it a “cute place right on the corner” you simply can’t miss. Claire Mizutani found the bustling Sunday morning crowd manageable, with swift service and ample outdoor seating, while Daniel Flores praised the coffee quality as “one of the best I've ever had,” drawing a portrait of loyal locals and relaxed visitors alike. Chelsea Robertson sums it up beautifully with a recollection of Sunday live music, friendly staff, and a broad range of roasts, a testament to the café’s vibrant community spirit.

I love good coffee shops. To be honest, the Fairfax Coffee Roastery isn't my typical cool, ultra Swedish hip décor kind of place that I usually go for. Does that matter? No! The Roastery is soo Fairfax, so down home and so daggily local that going there is wandering in to the soul of Fairfax. The nibbles hit the spot, the coffee is good and the tables outside are always there to meet a friend and talk for hours. I'm glad they support a big noticeboard, it's a great community hub for local events. I just hope they can stay as they are in a time when landlords are putting up rents all over town. Give them the business! Keep them serving good coffee and good vibes!
Stopped by when visiting from New Jersey. Cute place right on the corner, you can't miss is and can feel the positive vibes from the street. Tons of baked goods with a huge selection of coffees to try. Everything was great!
Went on a Sunday morning and even though it was busy I got through the line quickly and my drink was ready in just a few minutes. I got a black and white mocha and thought it was very sweet but in a good way. It can feel a bit cramped inside but there is plenary of outdoor seating.
This coffee was hands down one of the best I've ever had! As someone who enjoys regular dark coffee with only half & half, I'm able to really taste the quality of the coffee itself, and this place was absolutely amazing. I stumbled upon it while passing through town one morning, and as other customers arrived, many of them seemed like regulars, while others had just rolled out of bed in their PJs. The atmosphere was incredibly homey and welcoming. To add to the experience, there was free music being played by a pair of singers, one of whom looked like he might actually be the owner of the place. I didn't ask if the music was a regular thing, but it was soft and hauntingly beautiful. The decor was full of art nouveau motifs, and even the front door was a work of art. I would definitely make a point to stop in again if I'm ever in the neighborhood.
What a gem! There was live music on a Sunday when we were there, and he was incredible! Good coffee, friendly service, fast line, lots of places to sit. They have a large variety of beans and roasts. Definitely worth a visit the next time you're in Fairfax.
Stopped in and grabbed a turkey Pesto sandwich with a peanut butter cup mocha quad. Delicious food and good coffee.
I love visiting this place on my cycling trips. This is my midway point and I always stop in for some drinks and food. Although it a coffee shop, I usually get the açaí smoothie and a bagel sandwich; it never disappoints. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. They just got a temp parklet which is a nice addition.
